The capital of Azerbaijan has established a stellar reputation among F1 fans, thanks to the race’s unexpected twists and turns against a glorious backdrop. The combination of record-breaking speed along the shoreline of the Caspian Sea, with some hair-raising corners around the historic walled city, offers an amazing challenge for the drivers.
And now, the F1 Grand Prix returns to Baku for the sixth time, over the weekend of June 10-12, with the new generation of F1 cars set to scorch the streets of this beautiful city.
Arif Rahimov, Executive Director, Baku City Circuit: “Formula 1 races worldwide are reporting record crowds as spectators flock to circuits, and countries are opening up again after the pandemic. It’s the same in Azerbaijan, as we have seen huge interest in tickets for this year’s race in June. We can’t wait to welcome back the crowds to what is set to be a sell-out.”
The races in Baku have already produced five winners in the previous years, and this year’s race will have another winner ascending the top of the podium in June.
The hit series Formula 1: Drive to Survive (Netflix) has further fueled the public interest in this year’s event. And if that’s not enough, the new generation of F1 cars will create an even more exciting and unexpected race than usual.
“Our track is already known as a venue where there is plenty of overtaking, and I expect the long straights leading into Turn 1 and Turn 3 will see more action than we have ever had before,” added Rahimov. “Formula 1 fans know this race is unmissable as anything can happen. It’s the most unpredictable race of the season, making it the most exciting!”
Another big plus is that Baku is a mere 3-hour direct flight from Israel. For more information and tickets, visit the Baku City Circuit website.
