Israir is set to launch direct flights this winter to Plovdiv, Bulgaria's second-largest city and one of the oldest in Europe.

Aside from being an excellent gateway to the popular ski resorts in the Rila and Rodopi mountains, Plovdiv offers a full European winter experience featuring culture, traditional cuisine, and diverse attractions.

A Fascinating Jewish Angle

Plovdiv also boasts a rich Jewish history. The Jewish community has existed in the city for centuries, and among the old city's alleys, you can find Plovdiv's impressive synagogue, one of the largest active synagogues in Bulgaria. The stunning structure, inaugurated in 1909, serves as a living testament to the glorious past of the local Jewish community.

Skiing Within a Short Drive

Besides urban attractions, Plovdiv serves as an accessible gateway to Bulgaria's sought-after ski sites:

Pamporovo: A family ski resort with slopes for all levels, located approximately an hour and a half drive away.

Borovets: A well-known and established resort, about a two-hour drive from the city.

Bansko: Considered the leading ski resort in Bulgaria, with dozens of modern slopes and advanced winter facilities, approximately a two and a half hours drive away.

Israir highlights that the combination of a classic European urban vacation and proximity to ski resorts allows travelers to choose between a relaxing city break and active winter sports.

Collaboration with 'Ski Deal'

The flights to Plovdiv will operate in collaboration with the outstanding subsidiary 'Ski Deal', one of Israel's leading companies in the industry, offering packages including flights, accommodation, and ski passes, as well as leisure options in the city itself.

Israir anticipates that this initiative will turn Plovdiv into an especially attractive destination for families and ski enthusiasts alike.
