First Woman Appointed: New CEO for American Airline

Diana Birket-Rauco becomes the first woman CEO of Hawaiian Airlines, replacing Joe Sprague. Meanwhile, new changes in the group

Hawaiian Airlines appoints new CEO. The American airline, Alaska Air Group, announced significant leadership changes this week in its subsidiaries, Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines. Diana Birket-Rauco, currently serving as Senior Vice President of Communications and Sustainability at Alaska, will assume the position of CEO of Hawaiian Airlines starting October 29. She replaces Joe Sprague, who led the company for about a year.

Birket-Rauco will relocate to Honolulu, where she will oversee the Hawaiian brand and lead a team of over 6,600 employees. Apart from her new role, she will remain on the management team of Alaska Group. Additionally, she will also be responsible for sustainability and venture investments.

Meanwhile, Alaska announced Kyle Levine's promotion to Senior Vice President, with expanded responsibilities to include public relations, government relations, corporate philanthropy, community marketing, and sales in Alaska.

Both appointments are part of the operational merger expected to be realized this coming fall. The group is also preparing to launch an integrated loyalty program, expand its destination network, and invest in passenger experience.
