2 Flights to the East, 4 New Domestic Flights. The Greek airline Aegean Airlines is renewing with new routes for winter and summer 2025.
The company's two new international routes will be from Athens to Erbil in Iraq and Baku in Azerbaijan, but these are less relevant to the Israeli traveler.
In contrast, the company's domestic routes might be very interesting for travelers looking to embark on a combined vacation in several destinations in Greece. Starting in March 2025, the new routes will operate on the following schedule.
Heraklion (Crete) - Rhodes | Daily flight starting from 30.3.25
Heraklion (Crete) - Naxos | 2 weekly flights (Sun, Thu) starting from 1.6.25
Heraklion (Crete) - Corfu | 2 weekly flights (Mon, Fri) starting from 2.6.25
Heraklion (Crete) - Kos | 3 weekly flights starting from 2.6.25
Chania (Crete) - Rhodes | 2-4 weekly flights (Sun, Mon, Thu, Fri) starting from 18.4
Rhodes - Santorini | 3 weekly flights (Tue, Thu, Sat) starting from 3.6.25
Thessaloniki - Syros | 3 weekly flights (Tue, Thu, Sat) starting from 3.6.25
Most domestic flights are expected to be operated by ATR 42-600 aircraft, branded with the nostalgic logo of the former company Olympic, but operated in the service of Aegean.
Photo: AEGEAN This year, Aegean strengthened its operations on existing routes from Athens to Turkey: Istanbul (4 daily flights) and Izmir (5 weekly flights). From April 2025 and throughout the summer season, Heraklion and Santorini will be connected to Istanbul with 2 weekly flights, increasing to 4 during peak season.
This morning (10.12) Aegean resumed its flights on the Tel Aviv-Athens route after a three-month pause due to the war. The company will also operate, during the winter season and in addition to flights to Athens, flights to Larnaca in Cyprus.
