On September 23, 2025, Ita Airways' Flight AZ2029 will take off from Milan Linate Airport and make history as the first in the world to allow large dogs in the cabin without a carrier, alongside their owners.

Until now, nearly all worldwide airlines have only permitted small pets up to 8-10 kg inside carriers placed under passengers' seats, which means the Italian airline's initiative will break the rules and set a global precedent.

The project was developed in collaboration with the Italian Aviation Authority (ENAC) and key animal protection organizations, with the clear goal to establish a new standard for comfortable, safe, and family-friendly flights for both passengers and their four-legged friends.

If the experimental flight proves to be successful, the company plans to gradually expand the service to all routes. This would position it at the forefront of European and global aviation in terms of innovation and animal-friendly service.
