Canada's largest airline and flag carrier, Air Canada, is getting ready to significantly boost its U.S. operations next summer. The founding member of Star Alliance, the most comprehensive air transportation network on the planet, recently unveiled fresh routes and expanded service across several key transborder markets.
New Flights, Increased Transborder Capacity
The new schedule, covering the summer of 2026, is now available for booking through Air Canada’s website, as well as contact centers and travel agents.
Highlights include a new direct connection between Toronto and San Antonio, Texas, with flights running three times a week. Early evening departures from Toronto will be followed by returning flights from San Antonio the following morning. This will mark the first time the two cities will be linked by nonstop Air Canada service.
Montreal will also benefit from new links to the Midwest. Starting in May of next year, Air Canada will operate daily flights to Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio. Passengers will have access to convenient afternoon departures from Montreal and well-timed return flights from the U.S., ensuring smooth connections with the airline’s international network.
In addition to the new destinations, Air Canada will increase overall transborder capacity by 15%, compared to last summer. While this level is similar to what the airline offered in 2024, the growth is intended to provide more flexibility and stronger connectivity between the U.S., Canada, and overseas markets.
Air Canada Cargo’s Executive Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer, and President, Mark Galardo: “Air Canada is launching services to San Antonio and linking Columbus and Cleveland to Montreal to support travel between these destinations and points across our global network. We are also boosting capacity on other markets to provide additional travel options for customers on both sides of the Atlantic”.
The changes are expected to strengthen the airline’s cross-border travel while making it easier for U.S. travellers to access international destinations through Canadian hubs.
