A fire broke out this morning (24.9.25) in the Escape business lounge at Stansted Airport, north of London. Although the fire was not particularly significant, the departing passenger hall was evacuated as part of standard emergency protocol.

Following the handling of the event, the airport announced that the departing passenger hall has returned to full operation, but passengers are required to undergo security checks again, which could take longer than usual in the current circumstances.

Stansted emphasizes that there have been no changes to the schedule of departing and arriving flights; however, delays may occur throughout the day, and passengers should stay in contact with their airlines.

The airport has not released the cause of the fire in the business lounge or the extent of the damage, but according to reports in the British media, the incident was classified as a "minor fire."
