Following the cyberattack: Check-in disruptions continue across Europe.
After last weekend's cyberattack on Collins Aerospace, the provider of check-in and boarding systems, disruptions are still being recorded today (Tuesday) with expectations to continue into tomorrow (Wednesday) at airports across Europe, including Brussels and London Heathrow.
In Brussels, reports indicate delays and even cancellations, with airport teams working alongside the U.S. company to restore operations and minimize impact on the flight schedule.
Meanwhile, London Heathrow Airport announced that Collins Aerospace confirmed an IT system failure affecting several airlines in Europe. "We are supporting the affected airlines by increasing terminal staff to assist passengers," it was stated. Heathrow further noted that most flights are operating as usual, yet passengers are advised to check the flight status before arriving at the airport and to arrive at least three hours before long-haul flights and two hours before short-haul flights.
