Humberto and Imelda prompt route changes. As a result of two turbulent tropical weather systems in the Atlantic Ocean area, 8 ships of the cruise giant Carnival Cruise Line have had to adjust their sailing routes.
According to the company's weather alerts as of yesterday, September 29th at 3 PM Eastern Time, guests of the company continued to receive notifications about changes caused by Hurricane Humberto and Tropical Storm Imelda.
"Our fleet operations center in Miami is actively monitoring two tropical systems moving in the mid-Atlantic Ocean region. The safety of our guests and crew is our top priority, and our ships will always maintain a safe distance from the storms," the company noted.
These are the routes currently under observation:
Carnival Venezia - was one of the ships that had to change course due to the weather conditions. The ship is en route to New York and is expected to arrive as planned tomorrow, October 1st.
Carnival Magic - The ship's planned visit to Half Moon Cay yesterday, September 29th, has been rescheduled to Sunday, October 5th. The ship is expected to return to Miami on Monday, October 6th, as planned.
Carnival Sunrise: The cruise will depart as planned, and if there is a need to move away from the storm safely, changes will be communicated to guests on board.
Carnival Freedom: Today's visit to Princess Cays, September 30th, has been canceled. The ship is expected to return to Port Canaveral on Thursday, October 2nd, as planned.
Carnival Vista: Today's planned visit to Half Moon Cay has been replaced with a visit to Grand Turk. The visit to Amber Cove has been moved to Wednesday, October 1st, and the visit to Celebration Key has been moved to Friday, October 3rd. The ship is expected to return to Port Canaveral on Saturday, October 4th, as planned.
Carnival Glory: The cruise will depart as planned, and if there is a need to move away from the storm safely, changes will be communicated to guests on board.
Carnival Sunshine: The ship departed from Norfolk on Sunday, September 28th, with an updated itinerary. Guests will now visit overnight in Saint John, NB, from today until Wednesday, October 1st. This visit replaces visits to three Bahamas destinations. The ship is expected to return to Norfolk on Saturday, October 4th, as planned.
Carnival Pride: The ship departed from Baltimore on Sunday, September 28th, with an updated itinerary. Guests will now visit Portland, ME on Wednesday, October 1st, and Saint John, NB, on Thursday, October 2nd. This visit replaces visits to three Bahamas destinations. The ship is expected to return to Baltimore on Sunday, October 5th, as planned.
