IndiGo, India’s leading airline that operates over 2,200 flights a day and connects 90+ domestic and 40+ international destinations, has announced an expansion of its global network with direct daily flights from Mumbai to London Heathrow, starting October 26, 2025

The move, which marks the company’s 45th international, 138th overall, and second UK destination following the launch of Mumbai-Manchester, is part of the airline’s plans to become a leading aviation hub by 2030.

Flights will be operated on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, which are leased from Norse Atlantic Airways. The aircraft feature a dual-class setup with Economy and IndiGoStretch, the airline’s long-haul business product.

Passengers will enjoy complimentary hot meals and beverages inspired by global and local cuisines. Economy travellers can purchase alcoholic drinks onboard, while those in IndiGoStretch receive complimentary beverages.

Every seat comes with a seatback screen offering nearly 300 hours of entertainment. Tickets are now available via IndiGo’s website, mobile app, and authorized travel partners.

IndiGo’s chief executive officer, Pieter Elbers: “Our partnership with Heathrow, a key global hub, is a proud milestone and a strategic step in strengthening IndiGo’s global footprint. The India-UK corridor is important due to strong bilateral ties and growing travel demand from students, business travellers, and tourists. After the excellent response to our Manchester flights, we are excited to launch services to London, providing more options for our customers and seamless connectivity between India and the world.”

Heathrow’s Chief Customer Officer, Ross Baker, explained that the new route “will strengthen ties between the UK and India and create opportunities for trade, tourism, and cultural exchange.”

IndiGoStretch passengers will benefit from more legroom, priority check-in, and curated dining experiences featuring Indian specialties and sustainable amenity kits.
