Wizz Air continues its expansion in Eastern Europe.

The low-cost giant announced the expansion of its operations in Gdansk (Poland) with the placement of a ninth aircraft at the local base.

The new aircraft will enable the launch of five new routes to the following European destinations: Athens, Nice, Tallinn, Vilnius, and Poprad-Tatry (Slovakia). The routes will gradually open from December 25, 2025, to early May 2026, and will operate at different frequencies throughout the week. Ticket prices will start from 69 PLN (approximately $16), offering passengers a variety of additional options for winter and spring vacations.

This move is part of the company's strategic partnership with Gdansk International Airport and represents a continuation of the company's investments in the Polish market.

Between January and October 2025, the company operated over 50,000 flights to and from Poland, carrying more than 11 million passengers, marking an increase of almost 20% compared to the same period last year. Now, with the addition of the ninth aircraft, the company offers an additional half a million seats for the upcoming winter season across 39 routes to 19 countries.

Wizz Air chief executive officer József Váradi: "Positioning our ninth aircraft in Gdansk is a complete vote of confidence in Poland and Gdansk Airport. Gdansk has long been a cornerstone in our network in Poland, and this investment allows us to open new routes and add capacity—while supporting job creation, tourism industry, and regional connectivity. Poland continues to be one of the most dynamic markets for Wizz Air, and today’s decision is both a commitment to our customers and a foundation for further sustainable growth in Poland."

Gdansk Airport chief executive officer Tomasz Kloskowski: "We are pleased that Wizz Air supports Gdansk so consistently. Five new routes are excellent news for our passengers and proof that the Pomeranian region has enormous tourism potential. The ninth Wizz Air aircraft positioned in Gdansk is a vote of confidence for us and a clear sign that the company recognizes the potential of our airport. We are delighted that together we are developing Gdansk as a key point on the map of air routes in Europe."
