Photo: Riyadh Air Riyadh Air Launches Premium Lounge. As it prepares for its commercial activities, Saudi Arabia's new airline, Riyadh Air, is inaugurating its first luxury lounge at Riyadh's international airport.
The lounge, known as the "Hafawa Lounge", is located between Terminal 1 and 2, covering an area of approximately 2,000 square meters and offering around 370 seating options to cater to various needs, from spacious relaxation areas with private rooms to gourmet culinary offerings.
The premium lounge, which according to the company will open "soon," is designed for Business and Business Elite passengers, and is divided into different sections: quiet and relaxation zones, private rooms, family rooms, workspaces, a social area, an "Immersive Room" for a digital experience, and an "Executive Dining" area with an à la carte restaurant and personal service. Traditional Saudi coffee and dates are served at the lounge entrance as a nod to local hospitality.
Designed by the international firm Yabu Pushelberg, the lounge incorporates natural materials such as limestone and oak, along with desert-inspired elements. Technology is integrated throughout the lounge, featuring an intuitive navigation system, unhindered access, and interactive touchpoints aligned with the company's digital vision.
The launch of the lounge marks a part of Riyadh Air's expansion plan ahead of regular flights. The airline recently revealed the new cabin design for its dreamliner aircraft with advanced premium seats, ordered 25 A350-1000 aircraft, and joined a strategic partnership with the Air France-KLM Group.
Meanwhile, amidst discussions of a ceasefire and potential future normalization with Saudi Arabia, Israir's CEO recently noted that "the dream to fly to Riyadh is closer than ever", meaning that Israelis might also enjoy the impressive lounge in the future.
