Severe Weather Warning in Spain. A severe rainstorm is expected to hit southeastern Spain and the country's popular islands, where many Israelis also vacation during the holidays. This morning (10.10), the country's meteorological agency, AEMET, intensified the warning, labeling it "red," which is the highest level. The storm is expected to last several days.

On the mainland, the storm is anticipated to primarily affect the regions of Valencia and Murcia in the east and Andalusia in the south. Additionally, in the Balearic Islands, the storm is expected to primarily impact Ibiza.

Heavy rains are expected in the area today and tomorrow (10-11.10), with particularly strong rains forecasted in several southeastern cities on Saturday. By Sunday, October 12, the storm is expected to pass.

Last year, Spain suffered severe flooding that resulted in casualties and significant damage, in a region close to where the current warning has been issued, including areas of Valencia and Andalusia. The European Union allocated one of the highest amounts ever recorded for damage restoration.
