The UK government has announced an allocation of up to £10 million in new funding to boost security at Jewish institutions across the country.

The government statement emphasized the principle that no one should live in fear because of their faith, with the budget supplementing existing aid channels for the Jewish community, including the Jewish Community Protective Security Grant (JCPSG) operated through the Home Office.

The grant allows Jewish institutions to apply for funding for protective measures such as security personnel, cameras, alarms, and security upgrades, tailored to the needs of each site.

The government's announcement follows the attack that occurred on October 2, 2025 (Yom Kippur), outside the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation synagogue in Manchester, in which two community members were killed and others injured.

The Home Office clarifies that support for the Jewish community continues and is being expanded according to risk assessments and hate incident data.
