Larnaca Steals the Show: The Ten Leading Cities Israelis Flew To in 2024

In the past year, due to the halt of foreign airlines' flights to Israel because of the war, Israelis' vacation habits changed.

These are the ten leading cities Israelis preferred to fly to from January to the end of November 2024.

In first place stands Athens with 878,295 passengers on round trips, constituting about 6.90% of travelers, an increase of 15.83% compared to the same period last year.

New York stands second with a total of 847,061 passengers (including Kennedy and Newark airports), constituting about 6.16% of travelers, a decrease of about 29% compared to January - November last year.

Larnaca surprises third with 804,966 passengers and 6.28 percent of travelers, a jump of 24.65 percent compared to the same period last year - a great achievement for the neighboring city just 45 minutes flight from Israel.

Paris in fourth place with 681,813 passengers constituting 5.32% of travelers (including Charles de Gaulle, Orly airports), a decrease of about 30% compared to the same period in 2023.

Dubai in fifth place with 648,157 passengers constituting about 5.06% of travelers, a decrease of 17.85% compared to the same period last year.

London in sixth place with 569,703 passengers constituting 4.44% of travelers (including Heathrow, Luton, Gatwick airports), a decrease of about 47% compared to the same period last year.

Budapest in seventh place with 412,212 passengers constituting 3.22% of travelers, a decrease of about 22% compared to the period of January-November 2023.

Bucharest in eighth place with 379,440 passengers constituting 2.96% of travelers, a decrease of 17.66% compared to the same period last year.

Rome in ninth place with 371,448 passengers constituting 2.90% of travelers, a decrease of 34.60% compared to the same period in 2023.
