Disruptions continue at European airports.
According to the Lithuanian aviation authority, during the night of October 24-25, Vilnius and Kaunas airports were closed due to the unauthorized entry of meteorological balloons into the country's airspace.
The airports were shut down around 10 PM last night, with initial reports suggesting they would reopen at 4 AM the following morning; however, they resumed operations by approximately 2:30 AM.
No further details were provided by the local aviation authority about the airspace breach, but it is noteworthy that recently, Lithuania, along with many other Northern European countries like Norway and Germany, has witnessed incursions by foreign aircraft and suspected Russian elements.
Last month, Estonia filed an official complaint with the UN concerning suspected Russian activities in European airspaces. It was claimed, among other things, that "Russia is attempting to test the boundaries of its activities in Europe".
