Lithuania to Host the Annual Congress of the European Spas Association: European Spas & Balneology

Leaders of the spa and medical tourism industry in Europe will gather this year in the city of Druskininkai from September 24-27, as announced by the European Spas Association (ESPA). The conference, focusing on the Well Being trend that has taken the world by storm, will showcase modern spa treatments, trends, and updates in the field of medical tourism

Lithuania will host the annual congress of the European Spas Association in 2024.

Leaders of the spa industry in Europe will gather in the Lithuanian city known for its spa and healing sites - Druskininkai, from September 24-27, 2024, as announced by the European Spas Association (ESPA).

The conference, focusing on the hot trend of Well Being that has swept through Europe, will present modern spa treatments, trends, innovations, and updates in the field, with participation from top experts.

The last annual conference was held at the beginning of October last year in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic.

Part of the program includes awards for innovation in balneology and spa tourism, presented at a special gala evening during the congress.

Partners in the event include Lithuania's Ministry of Economy and Innovation, the Lithuanian Resorts Association, the National Association of Medical Spa and Rehabilitation Centers, and Toleranca Marketing.

The congress will focus on key topics related to climate change and sustainable tourism development. Discussions will include the broader use of balneotherapy and spa services for children's health with an increased emphasis on climate treatments.

More about Balneology (Balneology); a field of medical expertise focusing on the study of healing methods using mineral spring water, gases, and mineral mud, treatments typically given at healing spa sites. This field utilizes accumulated knowledge in clinical medicine, physiology, chemistry, microbiology, geology, physics, and other disciplines. It is a branch of expertise in physical medicine and rehabilitation and is not recognized as a separate expertise field in many Western countries.
