Vietnam's largest private airline, VietJet Air, is fulfilling a previous commitment by ordering 100 A321neo aircraft from Airbus manufacturer.
This deal emphasizes the airline's commitment to expanding its network and modernizing its fleet strategy, bringing its total orders for the A321neo to 280 aircraft.
The historic agreement follows the company's previous order of 20 A330neo wide-body aircraft in May, further strengthening its long-term strategic partnership with Airbus.
"The proven efficiency and flexibility of the A321neo make it the ideal platform to support Vietjet's ambitious expansion," said Benoit de Saint-Exupery, Senior Vice President at Airbus.
The A321neo, the largest aircraft in Airbus's best-selling A320neo family, offers long-range capability and outstanding performance. By incorporating new-generation engines, the A321neo reduces noise by 50% and achieves fuel savings of more than 20% compared to previous-generation narrow-body aircraft.
By the end of September 2025, more than 7,100 A321neo aircraft have been ordered by nearly 100 airlines worldwide.
The A321neo is capable of operating with up to 50% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), with the goal of increasing SAF capability to 100% by 2030, thus supporting the aviation industry's sustainability targets.
