Violent Incident on UK Train. British Transport Police and Cambridgeshire Police were called on Saturday evening (November 1) to Huntingdon Station in Cambridgeshire following reports of multiple stabbings on an LNER train running on the Doncaster-London King's Cross route.

According to police, a report of "multiple stabbings" aboard a train that had departed Doncaster at 18:25 en route to London was received at 19:42 (local time). Preliminary details from the scene suggest that the attack began several minutes after leaving Peterborough (around 19:30). The train made an emergency stop at Huntingdon at 19:44.

Armed police boarded the carriages, arrested two men, and took them into custody. As per the official update, 10 victims were transported to hospitals, nine with life-threatening injuries and one with non-critical injuries. No fatalities have been reported. The East England Ambulance Service initiated a wide-scale response, including air ambulances, tactical commanders, hazardous area response teams (HART), and critical care teams.

The BTP declared the incident a Major Incident, with the Counter Terrorism Policing unit supporting the investigation. Meanwhile, the police refrained from speculation at this early stage and conducted urgent inquiries to understand the circumstances and motive.

Police Chief Chris Casey described the incident as "shocking", thanked the public for their cooperation, and emphasized that the response continues at the scene: barriers are in place, trains are not passing through the area, and there are also road closures, including the A1307 entrance to the town center.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer on X: "The dreadful incident on the train near Huntingdon is deeply concerning. My thoughts are with everyone affected, and I thank the emergency services for their response. Anyone in the area should follow police guidance."

On the transport front, LNER and Thameslink report significant disruptions along the East Coast Main Line, with blockages around Huntingdon, delays, and cancellations. The public is advised not to travel on the affected lines and to check the official channels of the operators and National Rail before planning their journey.

Cambridgeshire is a county in eastern England, approximately 80 km north of London, with Huntingdon Station located on the main route between northern England and the UK capital.
