For almost two and a half decadesSeatGuru has been the most comprehensive and popular guide to airplane passenger seating across countless models of different commercial airlines.

Many passengers have used the platform to receive information about the advantages and disadvantages of business, economy, and premium class seats, as well as warnings about the distance from restrooms and aircraft kitchens in 700 different models of approximately 100 airlines from around the world.

After being acquired by TripAdvisor, the site continued to operate. However, according to "The Talkers," it was not updated with new aircraft models, and by the end of October 2025, it was closed entirely.

With the closure of SeatGuru, different types of airplane seats can be found on other competing sites in the field, including aeroLOPA, seatmaps.com, SeatLink, and SeatMaestro.
