Jetstar launched direct flights to Bali. The airline that sends more than 5,000 weekly flights to over 85 destinations across Australia, New Zealand, Asia, and the Pacific is opening up new horizons for Sunshine Coast travelers. The company has announced direct flights to the popular Indonesian island as well as easy connections to Singapore starting March 25, 2026. The move gives locals their first-ever nonstop link to Bali, making international travel simpler and more affordable.
Sunshine Coast to Bali
The new Sunshine Coast–Bali route will run three times a week on Jetstar’s modern Airbus A321LR aircraft, offering more than 70,000 seats a year. It’s the first time any airline has flown directly between the two destinations, marking a milestone for both the Sunshine Coast and Jetstar.
With a flight time of just six hours, passengers can skip the long drive to Brisbane and head straight from the Coast to Bali’s beaches, temples, and tropical escapes. The route becomes Jetstar’s tenth direct service from Australia to Bali and its fourth from Queensland, following the success of its Gold Coast route earlier this year.
Sunshine Coast to Singapore
The timing of the new Bali flights also allows for smooth connections to Jetstar’s existing services from Denpasar to Singapore. Travelers will be able to leave the Sunshine Coast in the morning and arrive in Singapore by dinnertime, opening access to one of Asia’s busiest hubs.
From Singapore, passengers can connect through the Qantas Group’s network to destinations across Southeast Asia and beyond. The route also gives international visitors a new way to reach the Sunshine Coast’s beaches, hinterland, and attractions without detouring through major cities.
Sale Fares
To celebrate the launch, Jetstar is running a 48-hour sale with one-way fares from the Sunshine Coast to Bali starting at $199, available from midday Queensland time at jetstar.com.
Jetstar CEO Stephanie Tully said the new route will transform travel options for the region. “We’re proud to be the first airline to connect the Sunshine Coast to Bali and Singapore. It’s a great win for travellers wanting an easy international getaway. With direct flights to Bali, travellers can trade hours on the road to Brisbane for extra time in paradise and enjoy more of what makes this island paradise so special. Jetstar is proud to be the largest carrier operating in South-East Queensland, and we’re excited to continue expanding our network to meet strong low fares demand.”
Sunshine Coast Airport CEO Chris Mills said the new connection will boost the region’s profile and accessibility.
“This is a game changer for the Sunshine Coast,” Mr Mills said. “For the first time, locals can fly direct to Bali for an island holiday. Our research showed that this was a highly sought after destination for locals. But it gets even better, after a short stop in Bali, the services connect on to Singapore, a global hub. Travelling to Singapore via Bali allows passengers to connect to destinations right across Asia, Europe, and beyond. It opens the world to our region and provides more opportunity for international travellers to land directly at our airport, only minutes from beautiful beaches and hinterland.”
He added that the new route will strengthen the Sunshine Coast’s position as a gateway for Queensland and help attract more international visitors to the area.
