Ryanair reports that Wednesday's (November 12, 2025) launch of the digital boarding pass (DBP) went smoothly, with zero issues recorded.
By 1:00 PM, over 700 flights took off across Europe with no delays or disruptions, and more than 98% of passengers presented a digital pass at security and boarding gates. Other passengers who performed online check-in received printed passes at the counters at no charge. According to Ryanair, no passengers were removed from flights. Moreover, on rare occasions when passengers had phone issues, boarding proceeded based on online check-in details.
Ryanair's Chief Marketing Officer, Dara Brady, stated: “So far, day one of Ryanair’s DBP has been a huge success as over 700 flights and more than 100,000 passengers enjoyed the improved service and better experience of paper-free boarding at Ryanair airports. We estimate our DBP initiative will save up to €40M annually, and this will help us to lower ticket prices and make air travel more competitive for Ryanair’s customers.”
