Cyprus sees 48 hours of unusual seismic activity. Despite experts in the field trying to calm the spirits and estimating that no powerful earthquake is expected following those measured this week, residents of the island are still afraid of further tremors that will occur, with even stronger intensities.
This morning, at 04:25, an earthquake with a smaller magnitude of 2.2 was recorded, following's yesterday's 3.3 earthquake in the Paphos area.
The day before yesterday, on November 12, 2025, the country recorded wwo earthquakes, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, both with a magnitude of more than 5. The tremors were also felt well in Israel. In total, the region has experienced almost 48 hours of significant and unusual seismic activity.
Residents expressed concern about more powerful tremors and even considered leaving the Paphos and Limassol areas temporarily, fearing that tremors would occur at night and make it difficult to reach a place of shelter.
