Tragedy Shakes Dubai Airshow: Audience Watches Indian Fighter Jet Crashing, Killing Pilot

Large crowd witnesses tragic crash.

An Indian Air Force (IAF) HAL Tejas combat aircraft, used in the Indian Air Force, has crashed today, November 21, 2025, during a demonstration flight during the Dubai Air Show, which is coming to an end today.

The pilot of the aircraft was critically injured in the accident, and, according to a statement from the Indian Air Force, it is presumed that he died from his injuries: 

"IAF deeply regrets the loss of life and stands firmly with the bereaved family in this time of grief. A court of inquiry is being constituted, to ascertain the cause of the accident."

The crash, which took place in front of many spectators, comes as a jarring chord at the end of a very successful week for civil aviation in the United Arab Emirates, during which many announcements were made regarding the future of the industry and impressive and successful air displays were held.
