Deadly Floods in Vietnam: 72 Dead, 13 Missing, and Hundreds of Thousands Affected

At least 72 dead and 13 missing as catastrophic floods and landslides devastate Central and South Central Vietnam, cutting off communities and crippling vital infrastructure

Severe floods impact Central and South-Central Vietnam. Unprecedented natural disaster in Central and South-Central Vietnam: flooding and landslides following heavy rains have resulted in the deaths of 72 people, with 13 more considered missing.

Đắk Lắk Province was hardest hit, with most of the fatalities and missing individuals. Other provinces such as Khánh Hòa, Gia Lai, Đà Nẵng, Lâm Đồng, and Thừa Thiên Huế are also experiencing heavy flooding, submerged roads, damage to electricity and communication infrastructure, and some communities are completely isolated.

An official report from the Vietnam Disaster Management Authority (VDDMA) states that hundreds of thousands of residents have been affected by the disaster. Rescue teams continue evacuating trapped citizens, and provinces are urgently requesting aid, including food supplies, clean water, and medical equipment.
