Brussels Airlines continues its fleet renewal plan and will receive 3 additional Airbus A320neo aircraft by summer 2026.

The A320neo uses less fuel, produces up to 20% less CO2 emissions, and reduces noise by 50% compared to the previous generation planes. In total, the number of A320neo aircraft in Brussels Airlines' fleet will increase to 8.

On November 1, 2023, Brussels Airlines received its first Airbus A320neo, directly from the Airbus factory in Toulouse. Brussels Airlines currently has 5 A320neo aircraft and the new planes will expand the fleet and replace two older A319 planes.

"The ability to add brand new planes is a win-win-win: By replacing old aircraft with the market's most fuel-efficient planes, we reduce our environmental impact. We also expand our fleet, creating additional jobs and improving connectivity to Belgium. Last but not least: The A320neo is a delight, both for passengers and crew, thanks to the upgraded and comfortable cabin, quiet during the flight, and additional space for hand luggage," said Dorothea von Boxberg, CEO of Brussels Airlines.

Brussels Airlines also introduced a new concept for cabin design in the A320neo, with new, more ergonomic, and comfortable seats. The A320neo also has overhead storage compartments that are 40% larger, increasing the capacity for hand luggage in the cabin.

The next A320neo aircraft are expected to join Brussels Airlines' fleet in the first six months of 2026.

The A320neo aircraft have 180 seats and are used for short and medium ranges. In the long-range network, Brussels Airlines is also growing, with three additional Airbus A330 aircraft joining the fleet in the coming years. Brussels Airlines will also completely redesign the interior of the long-range aircraft with an investment of over 100 million euros.
