Unusual incident on an Alaska Airlines flight.

A series of safety incidents in the last week, one of the busiest in U.S. aviation due to the year-end holidays.

Adding to the series of events that occurred last week, another unusual incident happened on flight number 323 from Milwaukee to Seattle of the American airline Alaska Airlines, when a passenger opened the emergency exit door after the plane reached the gate at Seattle airport.

The passenger stepped onto the wing of the plane, and fortunately, no injuries resulted from this. The incident took place on Sunday last week, December 22.

Alaska Airlines informed PassportNews that the passenger remained on the wing until medical personnel and law enforcement safely removed her.

In another incident that occurred on a company flight on December 26, flight 700 from Seattle to Phoenix experienced severe turbulence during the flight. The airline stated that

upon landing, medical personnel treated several crew members and one passenger who were injured during the event. The company apologized for any concern that may have been caused to passengers and expressed its appreciation to the flight crew for their professionalism in handling the situation.

Alaska Airlines noted that it continues to support the teams and passengers affected in both events.

The events come, as said, at the peak of the holiday travel season at the end of the year 2024. For example, United Airlines estimated that the 2024 holiday season will be the busiest so far, with about 25 million passengers, an increase of 6% compared to 2023.
