Judges Rule: This Is the Most Beautiful Renovated Train Station in London

After meticulous conservation work that restored the Richmond station to its original 1930s Art Deco appearance, the station won the prestigious Railway Heritage Trust award at a festive ceremony held in London

Richmond station in south-west London has won the prestigious National Railway Heritage Award, following a highly impressive restoration project carried out by South Western Railway and Network Rail. The award was presented by the UK Railways Secretary, Lord Hendy, to representatives of SWR.

The work, which began in 2023, focused on restoring the station's facade and entrance area, and upgrading the ticket hall, with the project driven by adherence to the station's appearance, which was built in the 19th century but redesigned in 1937. The renovation and preservation were completed in September of this year.

In addition to the significant award, in October, the project also won the Richmond Society Award for its contribution to the local community.
