Following October’s movie-like heist at the Louvre Museum, officials have announced an important ticket price rise by 45% for most tourists coming from non-EU countries. Accordingly, the museum has published its updated pricing policy for admission tickets, group reservations, guided tours, and educational programs. All listed rates include tax, and they are applicable starting January 14, 2026.
Museum Admission: What to Expect
Visitors who are not citizens or residents of the European Economic Area (EEA), which includes Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway, can purchase a standard admission ticket for €32, which grants access to the permanent collections and temporary exhibitions. This ticket also allows entry to the Musée National Eugène-Delacroix either on the same day or the following day, provided the museum is open.
Citizens and residents of the EEA are offered their own admission ticket category at €22, which provides the same access to exhibitions and also includes entry to the Eugène-Delacroix Museum under the same conditions.
A €15 fee applies when a visitor purchases the wrong type of ticket. Audio guides are available for an additional charge of €6, with a valid ID required as a deposit. Tickets for workshops or guided tours (€12 full price, €9 discounted price) do not include museum admission, which must be purchased separately.
How Much Will Small and Large Group Reservations Cost?
The museum offers two types of reservation fees for groups accompanied by a certified tour guide.
Small groups may include between one and six participants plus the guide, for a maximum of seven people. The small group reservation fee of €20 covers access to the permanent collections and temporary exhibitions but does not include the individual entry fee of €28 per participant. Visitors who qualify for free admission are included in the group count but are exempt from the participant entry fee.
Large groups include seven to twenty participants plus the guide, with a limit of twenty-one people total. As with small groups, the €90 reservation fee does not include the €28 participant entry fee for visitors who do not qualify for free admission.
Additional charges apply if a group or visitor fails to pay the required reservation (€300-€700) or participant entry fee (€50). These fees must be settled on site.
What About Guided Group Visits?
Certified Louvre guides may lead group visits of up to 20 people. This service, priced at €300 starting January 14, does not include the individual entry fee of €28 per participant, which is waived for visitors who are eligible for free admission.
School groups, extracurricular groups, social sector groups, and groups that include people with disabilities may participate in guided tours and workshops at the Louvre or the Musée National Eugène-Delacroix. These groups are exempt from the group admission fee when they are not accompanied by a certified Louvre guide.
Tickets and reservations are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged, except when a service is canceled or when an error occurs in processing by the museum.
Starting December 3, Musée du Louvre and the Musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac have oficially opened the "Gallery of Five Continents", a freshly remodelled exhibition space "dedicated to exploring the confluence of arts and civilisations from around the world."
