Where should you spend New Year’s Eve? Italy has come up with a unique and luxurious answer to the perpetual debate: La Dolce Vita Orient Express.
The three-day, two-night luxury train experience begins on December 30, allowing tourists eager to celebrate the New Year in a unique way to link the timeless charm of Rome with the rolling countryside of Montalcino and the romantic canals of Venice before returning to the capital.
The carefully chosen itinerary beautifully mixes slow travel with a series of celebratory festivities, including music, fine dining, and unforgettable moments.
First Leg: Montalcino
The adventure begins in Rome at La Dolce Vita Lounge, where guests are ushered in warmth and elegance before boarding the La Dolce Vita Orient Express.
The first leg will take them to Montalcino, a beautiful medieval town in Tuscany known for its Brunello wine and breathtaking scenery. Here, travelers can unwind in serene surroundings or enjoy personalized à la carte experiences that immerse them in local culture.
As evening falls, the train carries passengers back for a gourmet dinner created by three-Michelin-starred Chef Heinz Beck, accompanied by live music.
Second Stop: Venezia Santa Lucia
On the second day, travelers will wake up to a leisurely breakfast in their cabins or in the elegant dining car as the train arrives at Venezia Santa Lucia.
A boat transfer will take them through Venice’s canals into the heart of the city, where they will have the opportunity to explore independently or join curated experiences.
Later, the train becomes the setting for a New Year’s Eve starting off with a burlesque performance that will set the tone for the evening, followed by a Chef Beck.
As midnight approaches, elegant toasts will mark the transition to the New Year. This is also when the Bar Car comes alive with live music and a DJ, transforming the train into a lively celebration that blends elegance, fun, and Italian flair.
Final Stop: Rome
The final morning of the journey will carry passengers to Rome. As they enjoy breakfast as the train glides back to the Eternal City, the train will arrive at Roma Ostiense station at 11 a.m.
Once back, passengers can relax in La Dolce Vita Lounge and take a moment to reflect on the experience. Though the journey ends, the memories of stunning landscapes, gourmet cuisine, and lively celebrations linger long after the train stops.
The price per ticket for the three-day, two-night journey starts from €11,280 per passenger.
