Another airline is on its way back to Israel after more than two years. The Portuguese airline TAP Air Portugal is resuming operations on the Lisbon-Tel Aviv route for the first time since the outbreak of the war.
The airline, represented in Israel by Open Sky for over 40 years and among the first to be represented by the Israeli company, will resume the route on March 29, 2026, offering five weekly flights. The flight between Tel Aviv and Lisbon will take six hours, and the return flight will take five hours and fifteen minutes.
Departures from Lisbon during the summer season will depart at 20:45 and land in Tel Aviv at 04:05. Flights from Tel Aviv will depart at 05:05 in the morning, landing at 09:10 in Lisbon. In the subsequent winter season (starting in late October), flights from Lisbon will depart at 20:10, landing in Tel Aviv at 03:30. Flights from Tel Aviv will depart at 04:30, landing in Lisbon at 08:40. Round-trip fares start at 299 EUR.
Photo: Shutterstock From Lisbon, travelers can continue to six destinations within Portugal, including Porto, Faro, and the Azores; they can also proceed to Brazil, North America, and Africa, for a total of 75 destinations, with more than 1,000 weekly flights operated by the company. The company also notes that a five-day stopover in Portugal is available.
The flights will be operated on the modern Airbus A320neo, with a capacity of 168 passengers. TAP Air Portugal was awarded the title of "Safest Airline in Europe" and is considered one of the safest airlines in the world.
