For the First Time in 5 Years: The World's Largest Passenger Plane, Emirates A380, Lands in the European Capital

The airline from the United Arab Emirates brings back the world's largest passenger plane, known as the 'Super Jumbo', to Copenhagen. It is the only airline in the world operating the A380 to Denmark's capital, coinciding with the 100th anniversary celebrations of Copenhagen's airport

The A380 plane of Emirates, the world's largest passenger plane, landed in Copenhagen, Denmark for the first time since March 2020.

Emirates is the only international airline operating the A380 to Denmark, and the intriguing landing occurred just in time for the 100th anniversary celebrations of Copenhagen's airport.

Morten Balk, Emirates' Regional Manager for Denmark, said: "We are proud to finally bring back the Emirates A380 to Copenhagen – it’s a stunning sight to see it land on the runway again! We look forward to offering our customers once more the unique flying experience with our renowned A380 products and services. With more than 43% additional seats, more customers can now enjoy increased flexibility and diverse flight options to over 140 destinations through our home and hub in Dubai."

Emirates, acclaimed for excellence and quality, is renowned for its exceptional flight services and luxurious comfort. Its A380 aircraft is a passenger favorite due to its spacious and quiet cabins, and unique features like the onboard passenger lounge.

The aircraft offers a two-story layout where passengers can enjoy warm hospitality from a multinational crew that includes Danes, regional gourmet cuisine, and the award-winning entertainment system ice, offering up to 6,500 channels of content, including new collaborations with Spotify for access to diverse podcasts and playlists.

Schedules

The daily A380 flight will depart Copenhagen at 14:45 and arrive in Dubai at 00:10 (local time). Return flight EK151 will leave Dubai at 8:30 and reach Copenhagen at 12:30 (local time).

Passengers from Denmark can now connect eastwards to more than 140 destinations, including popular holiday spots like Bali, Mauritius, and South Africa. Emirates has recently expanded its destination network by resuming routes to Phnom Penh in Cambodia (via Singapore), and launching new routes to Bogota (via Miami) and Madagascar (via Seychelles).

The A380 serving Copenhagen will operate in a two-class configuration, with 58 flat bed seats in Business Class and 557 spacious seats in Economy Class.

Emirates has won more than 20 prestigious awards in 2024, including "World's Best Airline" at the Ultras Awards and "World’s Best Airline" by Telegraph Travel. Additionally, it has received four accolades at the World Travel Awards, including "World's Leading Airline - First Class" and "World's Leading Airline - Inflight Entertainment".
