AirlineRatings, a website specializing in aviation safety ratings, has published a list of the 25 safest airlines in the world for 2026, in both full-service and low-cost carrier categories. The ranking is based on tracking 320 airlines worldwide.
According to the site's management, the gaps between the leading companies are extremely small. The 25 companies are considered global leaders in the field of air safety, and there is no reason to claim that one of them is significantly safer or less safe than the others.
Among the parameters examined: incident rate in relation to the number of flights, age of the aircraft fleet, serious incidents, pilot training and compliance with international safety audits. This year, a focus on preventing air pockets was also added.
