A flight of Etihad Airways was stopped on the ground due to a malfunction.

In the event that occurred yesterday (January 5, 2025), flight EY461 of Etihad Airways was halted as the plane had already started accelerating on the runway.

No additional details about the nature of the malfunction were provided by the airline, and no injuries were reported in the event.

After the unusual decision by the flight crew to abort the takeoff in the midst, safety and rescue teams arrived at the scene and, according to emergency procedure, sprayed foam on the aircraft's wheels. Two tires were deflated to prevent ignition. Passengers were transferred to alternative flights and received accommodation arrangements as needed.

From Etihad Airways, it was stated that "Safety, comfort, and care for passengers are the company's top priorities." They also expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to passengers, while expressing appreciation for their understanding.
