Airport police are investigating an unusual incident that occurred tonight (Saturday) at Detroit Metropolitan Airport.

According to an official statement from the Wayne County Airports Authority (WCAA), a private vehicle crashed into the McNamara Terminal entrance and struck ticketing counters. The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. (local time).

The driver was arrested and is currently in police custody. At this time, the circumstances of the accident are unknown, and the investigation is ongoing.

Airports Authority fire and rescue teams treated six people at the scene. No further details were provided regarding their medical condition or the extent of the damage.
