Marriott, the world's largest hotel chain with nearly 10,000 hotels across 38 different brands, has opened The Landmark Nicosia, a new flagship hotel in Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus. The new hotel, the second in the chain on the island, is part of the Autograph Collection. The other hotel, Parklane, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, is located on the beachfront in Limassol.

We visited both hotels, and here are our impressions:

The capitalist life has a clear script: work tirelessly, run around with the kids, and occasionally take a vacation. But this isn't about that; rather, it's a report on breaking the routine of a hectic life in the Holy Land in Marriott's hotels on the neighboring island, Cyprus.

A short 40-minute flight (in our case, with Sundor, a subsidiary of El Al) and you're there. The Cypriot winter offers a completely different experience from summer: crisp air, surrounding greenery, and calming quiet. In other words, a perfect blend of nature, urbanity, and Mediterranean culture at its off-season, the most tranquil time on the island.

Perhaps due to this charm, the neighboring island recorded an 18% increase in tourism during December 2025 compared to December 2024, mainly driven by incoming tourism from the UK and Israel, with Israel leading the list.

"Marriott hotels in Cyprus offer high standard services and are an excellent solution for family vacations, as well as various options for the business audience," says Wilhelm Daniel, Director Global Sales Israel at Marriott International.

Marriott Limassol: a Wintery Resort Atmosphere

Do you know that feeling when you open the hotel room door for the first time, and you either think "Wow, this is amazing" or "Wow, what a letdown"? In the case of Parklane, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa in Limassol, it's "wow, wow, wow!".

The smart room with modern design in soothing color palettes and a panoramic sea view is equipped with everything you need: a king-size bed, fantastic bedding and pillows, an espresso machine, a minibar with complimentary soft drinks and snacks, a large TV screen, a hairdryer, an iron, a shower with a clear window facing the sea, and more.

The hotel, located on the "periphery" of Limassol, about a 15-minute drive from the city center, opened in 2019 and is rated 5-star Luxury. It has 274 rooms, including 222 standard rooms of various categories and 52 suites. The site also offers standalone private villas that can be booked through the network's website.

The hotel also offers an impressive selection of pools, including family and adults-only options, a spa, a sports complex with soccer and basketball courts, and a conference hall for up to 1,500 people.

The hotel, listed among Europe's top ten hotels by Traveller magazine, also excels in culinary offerings. Among the restaurants where we dined and enjoyed finger-licking dishes: Il Teatro, with Italian cuisine, Nammos, an excellent Mediterranean restaurant, and Lanes, the main hotel restaurant where breakfast is served, and which is definitely a competitor to the rich and varied breakfasts we're familiar with from Israel's leading hotels.

What to See Around Limassol At This Time of Year?

Marriott Nicosia: Perfect City Break

Until recently, Hilton operated here. Since last December, this amazing hotel has been operating under Marriott. The chain renovated the premises and transformed it into The Landmark Nicosia, Autograph Collection, a beautiful 5-star hotel.

Every chair, picture, carpet, and lamp here are items you'd want to take home. It's one of the most beautifully designed spots I've seen.

The hotel features 283 rooms, including 265 standard rooms in various categories and 18 suites, all designed with a clean, modern aesthetic.

The hotel mainly caters to a business clientele, and now that Cyprus has been chosen to preside over the EU Council starting this month, you'll find suited-up officials from the European Union alongside businesspeople. However, it also suits those looking for a stylish city break in the heart of Cyprus's capital.

What's on-site? Several outdoor pools, a spa with a heated indoor pool, saunas, and a large, equipped fitness center. As befits a business hotel, there are also plenty of event spaces, including a large event hall for up to 460 people. The breakfast here is also lovely, with a wide, varied selection.

Bottom line, whether you're looking for a winter resort with a spa or a modern, luxurious city break in the heart of Cyprus's capital, Marriott's hotels offer a perfect blend of comfort, style, and world-class dining and service. A reminder that breaking the routine sometimes is not just nice but entirely necessary.
