Most people traveled to the UK, Spain, Italy, the USA, and Turkey. The number of flights to and from Schiphol was 473,814 in 2024 - an increase of 7% compared to 2023.
Out of the 66.8 million passengers in 2024, more than 42.5 million flew directly to or from Schiphol. Nearly 24.3 million passengers were on a connecting flight at Schiphol. More than 12 million were unique transfer passengers. According to the international counting method, these passengers are counted twice; once as arriving and once as departing.
Schiphol directly connected the Netherlands to 301 destinations, 124 of which were intercontinental. According to the 2024 ACI report, Schiphol was the second most connected airport in Europe and the fifth worldwide. Schiphol had the most direct destinations in Europe.
45.3 million passengers traveled to or arrived from a European destination, 21.5 million to or from an intercontinental destination. The UK, Spain, Italy, the USA, and Turkey were the most popular destinations for departing passengers.
Schiphol handled 1.49 million tons of cargo, 8% more than in 2023. The amount of cargo handled in 2024 was 10% more than in 2019.
