It happens again: 2 passenger bodies were found in the wheel well of an American airline’s aircraft, this time with JetBlue.
After a few days ago a body was found in the wheel well of a United Airlines aircraft, last night, two bodies were found in the wheel well of a JetBlue jet after it landed at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
The bodies were discovered on Monday night during a post-flight maintenance check. Their identities are unknown.
A JetBlue spokesperson told Passport News: "On Monday evening, January 6, at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, two passengers were found in the wheel well of an aircraft during the routine post-flight maintenance inspection. Sadly, both passengers died. At this point, their identities and the circumstances of accessing the plane are still under investigation. We are committed to working closely with authorities to support their efforts to understand how this incident occurred."
It should be noted that hiding in a jet’s wheel well is the most common method used by stowaways. These passengers are often crushed when the landing gear retracts, as there is not much space; on many planes, the area is even smaller than a car trunk.
