Marriott Bonvoy, the official hosting partner of Puppy Bowl XXII, is launching a special initiative ahead of Super Bowl weekend, aiming to unite fans of rival teams through dog adoptions.
As part of the move, the chain will hold Pup Rally dog adoption events at pet-friendly hotels in the home cities of the two teams competing in the big game: the Aloft Boston Seaport District in Boston and the Residence Inn by Marriott Seattle Downtown/Lake Union in Seattle.
During the events, visitors and area residents will be able to meet dogs up for adoption from local charities, be handed pet treats and branded products, and watch a live broadcast of "Puppy Bowl XXII", the puppy play show, while enjoying light refreshments.
According to the company, the connection between the pet adoption tradition and Super Bowl weekend is intended to create a neutral, connecting experience in which sporting rivalry gives way to moments of shared joy.
Even those who don't attend Pup Rally events will be able to benefit from the initiative: Marriott will help fund future stays at pet-friendly hotels for fans who adopt dogs at Puppy Bowl adoption events across the United States.
The chain offers pet-friendly stays across a variety of brands, including Aloft Hotels, TownePlace Suites by Marriott, Element Hotels by Westin and Residence Inn by Marriott, emphasizing its commitment to tailoring the hospitality experience for guests traveling with their pets.
The initiative is accompanied by a campaign showcasing the partnership with Puppy Bowl XXII, including a sneak peek at Aloft’s Puppy Hotel, where participating dogs will be staying before the game. The campaign will air on television, digital and social media until February 8, with the Super Bowl between the New England Patriots and Seattle Hawks airing on February 9.
