The Lufthansa Group announced a wide recruitment plan for the year 2025, in which about 10,000 new employees will be hired in various fields, including flight attendants, ground crews, maintenance experts, and pilots.
According to the company's announcement, recruitment will span various fields, with over 2,000 positions allocated for flight attendants, about 1,400 positions for ground crews, and about 1,300 maintenance experts joining the company's technical division. Additionally, around 800 new pilots and about 1,200 additional administrative and operational employees are planned to be hired.
More than half of the positions will open in Germany, but the company emphasizes that recruitment will also occur in other countries where it operates.
Recruitment will occur across different divisions within the group, with Lufthansa Technik expected to hire over 2,000 employees, mainly in maintenance and technical services. The Austrian Airlines and Eurowings divisions will each recruit about 700 new employees, while Lufthansa Airlines itself is expected to recruit about 1,200 additional employees, focusing on operational roles and flight attendants.
Michael Nigman, a member of the management board of Deutsche Lufthansa AG and responsible for human resources, noted: "The Lufthansa Group remains an attractive employer with a wide range of job profiles and career opportunities. In 2024, we received 350,000 applications and hired over 13,000 new employees. We look forward to continuing to expand the company's teams and welcome new colleagues in 2025."
Despite the "Turnaround" efficiency plan of Lufthansa Airlines, which included certain cuts, the company continues a significant expansion process by recruiting thousands of new employees, as part of the ambition to improve service and maintain stable business growth.
Currently, the Lufthansa Group employs over 100,000 employees in more than 90 different countries. Over the past three years, the company has recruited over 30,000 new employees, and it plans to continue its growth trend into 2025.
