Silk Way West Airlines from Azerbaijan announced yesterday (February 5, 2026) the receipt of its fourth Boeing 777 Freighter. The aircraft landed in Baku after a direct flight from Seattle.
This is the fourth aircraft of six ordered as part of the company's fleet renewal plan and transition to a longer-range, more advanced cargo fleet.
As part of this move, the company has retired two Boeing 747-400F aircraft, in order to improve the operational efficiency and overall performance of the fleet. The remaining two 777F aircraft are expected to be delivered in 2027, when the first phase of the fleet renewal program will be completed.
The Boeing 777F is considered one of the world's most advanced cargo aircraft, with long range, high payload capacity, and improved fuel efficiency. Its integration into the fleet supports the company's focus on operational reliability and preparation for future growth.
Following the delivery of the aircraft, the company's fleet now counts 12 aircraft. Starting in 2028, Silk Way West is expected to embark on the second phase of the modernization program, which includes the delivery of four Airbus A350 Freighters and four Boeing 777-8 Freighters.
This phase is intended not only to replace older aircraft but also to increase capacity, and is expected to be completed by 2030, when the company's fleet will consist of approximately 20 wide-body aircraft
