On February 22, 2026, a HiSky charter flight on the Bucharest–Hurghada route reported a technical alert indicating a possible cabin depressurization problem.

The Airbus A320 aircraft took off from Otopeni Airport at 5:19 p.m. (GMT) and, about 30 minutes after departure, declared an emergency. The maneuver was estimated to last approximately one hour.

The flight carried 180 passengers and six crew members on board. The Bucharest-Ilfov Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU B-IF) reported that no one was injured in the HiSky aircraft incident.

"Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport activated the intervention plan following the report of a possible pressurization problem on board an aircraft operating the Bucharest–Hurghada (Egypt) route."

According to the airline’s official statement on Instagram, the captain operating flight H48711 followed “standard procedures” and decided to return to Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport, where the plane landed safely.

“All passengers and crew members are safe, and no injuries were reported”, further said the privately owned airline operating regular and charter passenger flights from Romania and the Republic of Moldova to over 20 domestic and global destinations.

“We note that such technical alerts can occur during commercial aircraft operations, and the application of preventive procedures is part of aviation’s strict safety system. HiSky crews are continuously trained to respond promptly and efficiently to any unexpected situation, with the absolute priority being the safety of passengers and crew.”

The statement further added that the flight resumed on the morning of February 23, after additional technical checks and corrective actions were completed.
