Breaking News: Great news for Israeli travelers. The Italian airline ITA is renewing flights to Israel.
One of the important European airlines at Ben Gurion, Tel Aviv Airport, the Italian ITA, which until now was known not to renew the route to Israel until February 1st, 2025, confirmed to Passport News this evening (January 14th, 2025) that it is returning to operate the route between Tel Aviv and Rome.
The Airline will resume the route on February 1st, 2025, with a daily flight. Flights from Rome to Tel Aviv will depart at 09:10 and land at Ben Gurion at 13:30. Flights from Ben Gurion will depart at 14:30 and land in Rome at 17:15.
Alongside the route return to Rome, it is important to note that ITA is offering prices under $700 for flights between Tel Aviv and New York, with a stopover in Rome.
This morning we reported that Israir is considering operating the direct route between Tel Aviv and New York, partly based on a possible return of foreign airlines. This is in contrast to Arkia Airlines which recently announced the beginning of the route on February 8th, 2025, at a price of $1,199 for a round-trip flight.
ITA, which joined the Lufthansa Group last July, may be the first of the group's airlines to return to Israel.
The group includes Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, and EUROWINGS, all of which had halted their flights to Israel until the end of this month, and it is not unlikely that we will see them returning to Israel soon.
