For the first time ever: direct flight between Sydney, Australia, and Las Vegas, Nevada.

Australian airline Qantas will operate a new direct seasonal route between Australia's largest city and Las Vegas starting in December 2026, becoming the first airline in the world to operate a direct scheduled flight between the destinations.

The seasonal service will operate until March 2027, saving passengers up to five hours of flight time compared to a connecting flight. Las Vegas will become the 101st destination on Qantas' network and the airline's eighth destination in the Americas, joining Los Angeles, San Francisco, Honolulu, Dallas, New York, Vancouver, and Santiago.

The flights will operate during major international events in the city, including the CES technology exhibition and the NRL season-opening festival.

The route will operate three times a week, on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, using a Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Flight number QF55 will depart Sydney at 9:00 PM and land in Las Vegas at 3:55 PM, with an estimated flight time of approximately 13 hours and 55 minutes. The starting price for a round-trip economy class ticket will be AUD$1,099 (US$782).
