Stuck Plane on the Runway in Phuket Caused Airport Shutdown and Many Delayed Flights

Phuket International Airport has published an update this morning (March 11, 2026) regarding an incident in which Air India Express flight AXB938 flying from Hyderabad (HYD) to Phuket (HKT) experienced a runway incident after landing.

According to the airport, authorities are repairing the plane's damaged landing gear and working to remove it from the runway. The operation is expected to be completed around 6:00 PM local time (11:00 AM GMT). Flights are currently delayed.
