Security incident at Reagan National Airport in Washington. According to the airport's announcement, a suspicious object was located in the restroom today (Thursday, March 12) at around 9:00 a.m. local time. Following the report, the Airport's Authority Police were called and immediately established a security perimeter around the location until the item could be examined.
As part of the safety measures, passengers were evacuated from Concourse D at the airport, and access to the complex was restricted until the inspection was completed.
The airport reported that Arlington County Fire and Rescue removed the suspicious item from the area, and airport operations were gradually returning to normal.
At the same time, passengers were informed that there may still be changes to schedules and that they should recheck flight times and boarding gates directly with the airlines before arriving at the airport or boarding the plane.
