NYC Alert: Large Fire at Top of Manhattan Tower Causes Traffic and Transit Delays

A large fire broke out today (March 17, 2026) in the morning hours (New York time) in the heart of Manhattan. The fire broke out at the top of one of the business towers at the intersection of 43rd Street and Madison Avenue, as mentioned, in the heart of the Big Apple's business district.

The circumstances that led to the fire are still under investigation, and the New York Fire Department reports that traffic delays, road closures, and disruptions to public transportation are expected. Drivers in Manhattan were advised to take alternate routes.

The fire services also informed us that large teams of rescue forces operating in the city were rushed to the scene of the incident, which does not currently have a known cause.
