Tropical Vacation: Eurowings to Fly Direct from Germany to Azores

The German airline from the Lufthansa Group will launch a weekly route from Dusseldorf to Ponta Delgada on Sao Miguel Island starting May 10, along with new destinations like Lisbon, Porto, and Dublin

A new route to the Portuguese holiday islands. The airline Eurowings from the Lufthansa Group announced yesterday (19.1) the opening of a direct flight route between Dusseldorf and the Azores.

It will be a weekly flight starting on May 10, 2025. The flights from Dusseldorf to Ponta Delgada will take off every Saturday at 6:25 AM. Return flights will also leave on Saturdays, at 10:10 AM.

Alongside the route to the Azores, Eurowings is expanding its summer 2025 flight schedule with new destinations including three weekly flights from Hanover to Lisbon starting June 6, a weekly flight from Hanover to Corsica, and 4 weekly flights from Stuttgart to Dublin, the capital of Ireland, starting March 31. An additional route to Portugal opening on May 1 will be between Cologne and the city of Porto in northern Portugal, starting May 1. Tickets for all new Eurowings routes will be available for sale from January 22, 2025.

As we published last week, the Lufthansa Group, of which Eurowings is a member, is expected to resume its flights at the beginning of February 2025, with Lufthansa flights to Munich and Frankfurt, Austrian Airlines to Vienna, SWISS to Zurich, Brussels Airlines to Brussels, and Eurowings to Dusseldorf.
