A possible solution to the TSA staffing crisis in the US? Last night (Sunday, March 22, 2026), President Donald Trump used his Truth Social account to speak about a potential fix to the problem.
According to the President, starting today (Monday, March 23, 2026), TSA personnel will be replaced by ICE agents, the US immigration police who recently made headlines due to a number of violent incidents that have angered minorities in the US.
"ICE will be going to airports to help our wonderful TSA Agents who have stayed on the job," Trump said.
As you may recall, the TSA crisis began several weeks ago due to a lack of agreement between Republicans and Democrats over the salaries of airport security personnel, which even resulted in pay slips that read $0, according to official publications. TSA currently counts roughly 65,000 employees. The number includes approximately 50,000 airport security officers.
