On board the Jazz Aviation flight operating for Air Canada (CRJ-900 aircraft) were 72 passengers and 4 crew members.
The airport was closed, and according to several reports, there were several injuries in the incident. Police and the NTSB have opened an investigation.
The New York Police Department (NYPD) explained that, due to an emergency at LaGuardia Airport, all streets and exits from the airport expressway have been closed until further notice. The public should expect delays and avoid the area if possible.
